Perhaps you live in an apartment and crave getting your hands in the soil, or maybe your backyard is too shady to get good yields of your favorite veggies. Maybe, like me, you are a novice gardener and want the wisdom of a crowd to aid you. Here is a list of some Hudson Valley community garden programs that offer — space is limited so the earlier you sign up, the better.

Gardens For Nutrition, New Paltz
Part counter-culture and part reaction to double-digit inflation of the 70’s, the Gardens for Nutrition were started in 1976. Today the gardens consist of 150 20x20 plots along the Walkill River on a five-acre flood plain. They have running water, a solar-powered electric deer fence and shared tools, wheelbarrows and lawnmowers.
